Say Hello to Charlotte our new Safeguarding Lead

We are delighted to welcome Charlotte Hammond to England Cricket Association for the Deaf who has joined our team as our new Safeguarding Lead.


Charlotte's focus will be to ensure that deaf people are supported to access sport in a safe environment and support coaches and volunteers to do this in a way that empowers deaf cricketers.


 Charlotte has a strong background in various sectors of safeguarding. Her first degree was in Law and Criminology and Her Masters degree was Advanced Child Protection with a specific focus on Safeguarding and Sexual Abuse in Sport.


She has worked in safeguarding roles in education and residential care and now works in the Safeguarding team at Swim England. She has a significant background in sports personally too. We are delighted that she has chosen to volunteer with us at ECAD and enable us to benefit from her experience and skills.


Charlotte spoke about her new volunteering role "I am delighted to have been appointed to volunteer with ECAD. Serving the sports community is right at the heart of my employed role at Swim England, through the outreach and charity work I do. As a volunteer Designated Safeguarding Lead at ECAD, I will predominantly be on hand to support the organisation in any safeguarding related matters. Working with deaf people to provide them with safe sporting opportunities is a huge passion and I am looking forward to supporting ECAD in order to achieve their community goals.”
