Yorkshire have become the 4th County Deaf cricket team with their entry into the ECAD Indoor tournament in Derby in February.
They will be joined there by holders Lancashire, 3 time runners-up Surrey plus local side Nottinghamshire, also their first appearance in the ECAD Indoor tournament. The 5th team will be an ECAD Academy team made up from the young exciting players across the rest of the country.
Speaking about the entry list ECAD vice-chairman and development officer Darren Talbot said, "The inclusion of a fourth county Deaf team is a great step in the right direction for grassroots Deaf cricket in the UK. To have four counties taking part for the first time, plus the ECAD Academy team of promising young players only goes to show the progress Deaf cricket is making. The recent support provided by the ECB has made a palpable difference to the future of Deaf cricket and will no doubt continue to do so."
The event will take place on Sunday 26th February at the Willows Cricket Centre in Derby and spectators are welcome.
