ECAD appoints new Social Media Manager

Updated: Jul 23, 2021

The England Cricket Association for the Deaf (ECAD) have appointed a new Social Media Manager and are pleased to welcome Karl Quinney to our team.

Based in Rugby, Warwickshire, Karl is an ECB Level II qualified coach and player with Willoughby Cricket Club where he has been involved in a number of capacities for over 25 years including as Press/Media Officer, and the club’s 2nd XI and Sunday XI team captains. Most notably Karl oversaw the management and development of the club’s junior and youth cricket section for 18 years and was also recognised and awarded the Midland Club Cricket Conference’s Halesowen Trophy in 2019 for services to youth cricket.

Although he has taken a step back from team management and playing as regular, he is helping develop Willoughby’s new generation of youth team coaches which includes his son Jake.

Away from the cricket field, Karl is a freelance copywriter in the sport and leisure, and travel and tourism industries.

From an ECAD perspective, he will now be managing all our social media activity, as well as creating regular content and helping the marketing sub-committee to promote Deaf Cricket in the UK.

Karl can be contacted on 07775 883102, via email at karl@karlquinney.co.uk, or via any of the ECAD social media channels.
