Play

There are several ways Deaf cricketers can get involved with playing county and regional matches.

At the top end of ECAD’s pathway we have a 1st XI selection only team made up from the strongest members.

The ECB run a Disability County Championship which will include Deaf cricketers from 2020. There are several county teams which take part at hard ball and soft ball levels. We will sign post ECAD members to their nearest county. From that competition players may be selected for the ECB Hardball Franchise Competition which replaces the Lions teams.

Below that, ECAD run three regional teams, ECAD North, ECAD Midlands and ECAD South.

All 3 teams play friendly matches usually on Sunday afternoons in the summer with competition between them all towards the end of the season.

There is also an ECAD Academy team for our younger players. This team has a short tour each summer and train across the winter.

Below that level, we have six county & regional teams who take part in our Indoor Competitions. Some of these teams also play outdoor matches.

All ECAD outdoor fixtures and results can be found on our Play-Cricket page.
